Drum solos, synthesizers, electric guitars, string ensembles and lots and lots of bravado. These are the theme songs from your favorite 1980's tv shows.
The Rockford Files, synthesizers and a country band.
Hawaii Five-O, is there a more famous drum solo?
The Fall Guy, you can hardly tell that Lee Majors is actually singing the vocals...
The Greatest American Hero, Believe it or not, I'm not home!
Magnum P.I., starring one famous mustache and a pair of very short shorts.
T.J. Hooker, nothing particularly interesting about the music, but the action shots of Shatner are quite awkward.
MacGyver, this theme song was actually created with a pair of dentures and a hardened tampon.
Air Wolf, this theme song seems made for a video game.
Facts of Life, Oh Mrs. Garrett, what didn't you teach us?
Small Wonder, my favorite 80's premise and quite a 50's intro
I missed some obvious ones, so leave em in the comments!

I've heard of them but I actually didn't watch any of these growing up in the Puerto Rico. Funny thing is that now there is not one American show not aired in the island. From Weeds to Spanish dubbed episodes of The Simpsons (I got those in the early 90s), PR has assimilated significantly with American TV culture.
