Google made a mistake bundling this announcement with real-time search.

When the announcement came out I scanned a few articles, said “hmmm” and moved on. Until a few minutes ago I hadn’t watched the above video.

Holy shit.

This is the future… or one of those promises of the future that were dolled out years back. Point your phone around the real world and reveal accurate and relevant data sourced from the digital world.

Seriously – no messin’ – google goggles is an entirely new paradigm of human computer interaction – “hey Internet – what’s that?”
