Daniel Kahneman – Nobel prize winner and a founder of behavioral economics
I need to watch this about ten times before I fully start to not understand it – which means I’ll have questions I can run off and find answers to – but I already love the idea of designing experiences and time around the experiencing self vs the remembering self.
When Kahneman talks about the two week vs one week vacation, he’s touching on the notion of marginal utility – one ice cream cone is delicious, the second is slightly less delicious. Even though we know this, most of us buy the second ice cream cone anyway.
Here’s an interview with Kahneman from 2003, published in strategy+business:

Just like Chris Anderson said in TED for Daniel, “thanks for inventing behavioral economics”

You’ve been on quite the behavioral economics tear lately. I’d be interested in how this all integrates within digital–especially given our ability to quickly A/B test cognitive biases in site copy and design.
